Sail Bacalar’s Seven Colors Lagoon with a small group, two swim stops, fresh fruit, beer, and expert local crews for $40.

“We took this boat trip on a nicely windy day. A good amount of wind means that the boat moves nicely without the need for the motor. On the positive side our crew was exceedingly focused on making sure we were safe and looked after. My wife and daughter had never been sailing before and at no point did they feel anything but super safe, even when the boat was tipped to its maximum. They prepared some fruit for us which was very nice, and we stopped twice for some swimming time which was really appreciated on a hot day. Perhaps the only minor criticism was that there was not…”

Review of Bacalar’s Seven Colors Lagoon sailing tour, with cenotes, swimming, snacks, drinks, guides, value, and practical booking advice.

“A 3-hour trip over a stunning lake, including drinks, fruit and two lovely swim breaks. What’s not to love? This was definitely the highlight of our visit to Bacalar. The lake has many amazing sights, from the history-laden Pirates’ Channel to Bird Island and the cenotes. Our crew members Abraham and David were incredibly nice and made sure everyone was happy and well cared for. They had many cool stories about the lake and the surrounding region and were happy to share both these and personal stories. I cannot recommend taking a trip with them enough.”

Review of Bacalar’s private 7 Colors Lagoon tour, with swimming, cenotes, Pirate Channel, fruit, drinks, guides, value, and practical tips.

“Our family of 11 was looking forward to this excursion. We left the port and went to the taxi. This is when we were told it was a 2 hour taxi drive to the meeting location. This information was not shared previously even though I had shared we were coming in on a cruise. I also tried to get in touch with them prior and there was no response. I never leave negative reviews but this was not resolved so hoping others do not experience this. A four hour taxi drive for a three hour excursion would not work.”

Review of Bacalar’s sunrise paddle or kayak tour, with cenotes, bird sanctuary, floating picnic, practical tips, price, and honest drawbacks.

“First of all: Pelu was an amazing and such a kind guide! You could definitely tell she loves nature and the lagoon specifically given all the information she happily provided us with. Also, the lagoon is beautiful - one the sun came out, you could see its incredible colours. However, we thought the organisation (it seems mostly the communication between Viator and the actual provider) was rather poor. We felt like, had there not been another person who booked straight with the actual provider, our tour would have never happened as they didn’t really know about us coming. Also, the claim here on Viator of a “continental breakfast” is a…”

“It was great. Alberto was really knowledgeable! My only comment is that since you shouldn't wear sun cream, you should definitely cover up when out in the water.”
