Visit Teotihuacan before the crowds with a guide, transport, pyramid views, obsidian workshop, and optional Mexican lunch from Mexico City.

“The pyramids are indeed unique but our guide did not seem to know much about the history or background at all. The tour was also a mix of english and spanish together and all his explanations were a bit longer in spanish and only a sentence in english. validating facts after the tour, we found he even gave wrong info. Also stopped at a lunch place where the tour had mentioned we’ll be allowed to choose from a buffet if we want but pushed us into another place with clearly a commission set up. Last, and not most important, but the bus wasn’t the most comfortable seats either. Do not…”

Review of Mexico City’s Anthropology Museum tour, with expert context, major artifacts, guide tips, group-size concerns, and practical booking advice.

“We arrived 10 minutes late to the meeting time and sent notice we would be late (via Viator app). Never heard back and group was long gone when we arrived. I attempted to call the telephone number provided, multiple times, and was never able to get in touch with anyone. Yes, it was my fault for being 10 minutes late (CDMX traffic!) but at least respond to me or provide a way to catch up with the group! I was very disappointed to miss the tour and hope my money is refunded. I have had other good experiences with Viator, FWIW.”

Review of Cancun’s 4-in-1 Xenotes tour, with kayaking, snorkeling, ziplining, rappelling, meals, drinks, and practical tips.

“We are not the adventurous sorts but we really wanted to explore a number of Cenotes and this seemed the best option. We ended up really enjoying the zip-lining, kayaking and all of the activities, despite a lot of nervousness and a ton of adrenaline. There was a lot of care for safety so that was good. I would definitely plan to bring a towel and a change of clothes for the end of the day, so you have dry clothes for the ride back to Cancun. Plan to spend the day in a suit only (no wrap, no hat and sunglasses, etc) Joshua was great and moved things along…”

See Monte Albán from Oaxaca with an expert English guide, air-conditioned transport, free time, and flexible return options for $32.24.

“We traveled by van to the site, meeting in the center of Oaxaca, we met our guide Michel at the site. Even though we arrived at the time it opened our guide spent much of the time talking outside the site, then at the beginning of the site. Some of his discussions were interesting but some very off target, all lengthy. We left the tour and read the information plaques next to the structures as he left very little time to actually view the full site and museum.”

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 680 reviews · 12 hours (approx.) · from $169

Review of a 12-hour Chichén Itzá tour from Cancún with a cenote swim, Valladolid buffet, bilingual guide, breakfast, and transport.

“This was a great adventure and seeing Chichen Itzá was the highlight for us. We wished we had more time at this stop but we were able to see everything (just had to move fast). The cenote was also amazing and on the way out we came across an example of a traditional home where a woman was cooking and handing out homemade tortillas - AMAZING. The facilities here were quite beautiful and the swimming is fun but crowded. Visiting Valladolid was interesting as well but our least favorite stop if we had to pick one. We are both vegans and the food at the buffet was limited for us,…”

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 616 reviews · 9 hours · from $32

Review of Cancun’s Chichen Itza early access tour, with guide-led sightseeing, hotel transfers, costs, timing, and practical tips.

“Beto was a fantastic guide, it was a very early start from Cancun but it was worth arriving at Chichén Itzá right when it opened. It was a roughly three hour plus trip each way factoring in stopping for pickup/drop off for other members of the tour group. Once there we had some time to explore the site on our own and some time afterwards for a very informational guided tour. Lunch buffet in Kaua was filling which was all I was expecting and FYI drinks are an additional cost.”

14.Guided Tour in Teotihuacan with Cave Breakfast and Transportation

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 613 reviews · 5 to 6 hours (approx.)

Review of Teotihuacan’s cave breakfast tour from Mexico City, with transport, guides, tastings, pyramid access, workshops, and practical tips.

“This tour sucks. The breakfast in cave was decent, but the two stops at tourist traps were with pushy sales people. The worst part is that the stop at the cocoa shop were shady! The lady asked if we would like to try the hot chocolate, we all thought it was free because they were doing samples. Then she demands $5 US/100 pesos for each. We didn't even drink them, tasted like dirt with warm water. To make it worse, they tried to hussle my wife into paying twice after I had already paid for both drinks. The tour said 5-6 hours. WRONG! It ended up being closer to 8…”

“Poor pickup time guidelines. When they say 9am they really pick up at 7am. They just take your money. We are out $189 per person for 2 people! It’s a compete horrible thing for a vacation. I will never use this company again.”
